Quality Control & Management

Quality is an integral part and an important aspect of the Production.

The Quality of a any Product shall depend on the following:
  • The Quality of Raw Materials used.
  • The Quality of the Process.
  • The Quality of the Machinery and Attachments used.
  • The Quality Control Mechanism - built into the process.
  • Reduction of Rework and Alterations etc.
The Quality is a Process that should be integrated with the Work Flow. It should not be treated as a comodity that can be added to the finished Product.

Each Division or Department should have their own Stringent Quality Standards. Check Points should be created and the same be manned by Quality Controllers, Checkers and Quality Auditors. The findings should be Documented at regular intervals and the same be made available to the Department Head and the Head of the Quality Department. Extra care should be taken that all Materials should be thoroughly inspected and only the Goods that pass the required Quality Standards should be allowed to pass through to the next stage.

All the Documents in form of Reports should be standardised, filled on a daily basis, authorized by the Department Heads and filed in all Departments.

Repaeted Errors or Omissions should be immediately reported to the immediate Supervisor and Documented. All the Quality Department Staff should have the liberty of taking such issues to the next level of hierarchy, if the issue persist.

Internal Audits should be conducted at various points at regular intervals by the Head of the Quality Department to ascertain the efficiency of the system.

Final Quality Audit as per the prescribed standards should be conduted only by the Head of the Quality Department or a person nominated to do so. On successful review in the Final Audit only, the Goods may be shipped. The Final Verdict on this issue should always be from The Head of the Quality Department.

In the event of External Final Inspection, The Goods may be offered for Inspection only after the completion of the above and The Quality Head shall make all Interim and Final Quality Audit Reports available to the External Quality Auditor.

Though the process seems quite simple, there may be quite strong oppositions from all departments citing various reasons!

It has to be made very clear that the Quality Standards are and will be stringent and will not be compromised in any means. The Management should always preach and practise this in full extent to achieve results.
